Come and see why the Pacific Northwest is rated as one of the world's top cruising grounds. The variety and number of islands makes this area a vacation paradise. Secret coves, protected anchorages, lively ports of call (in two countries) and what seems like open ocean, are all yours to enjoy. Wildlife abounds in these islands; eagles, cormorants, loons, herons, whales, dolphins, seals and otters are your companions.
Day 1
Sidney to Poets Cove Resort.
Depart from Sidney and sail or power across Haro Strait with the porpoises at your bow. Spend the night at anchor in a marine park or tie up at Poets Cove Resort on South Pender Island and enjoy the many amenities offered.
Day 2
Bedwell to Montague Harbour.
A relaxing sail or power up Swanson Channel to Montague Harbour with several lunch stops available en-route. At this beautiful anchorage and marine park relax and enjoy a night under the stars.
Day 3
Montague to Ganges.
Short sail or power over to the artisan town of Ganges, relax and enjoy the quaint seaside town.
Day 4
Ganges to Maple Bay.
Cruise up to the light thermal winds of Trincomali Channel and around the top end of Salt Spring Island before bearing away for a gentle run down to Maple Bay.
Day 5
Maple Bay to Butchart Gardens
.
Scenic sail or power down through the gorge-like tidal waters of Sansum Narrows before a brisk sail or power into Saanich Inlet. Moor off the world famous Butchart Gardens then dinghy ashore and wander through this spectacular floral peninsula.
Day 6
Butchart to Sidney
Sail or power out of Saanich Inlet at your leisure past some of the most beautiful homes on the west coast. Skirt around Coal Island and back into our home base in Sidney. Spend the final night aboard your yacht and depart the next morning
This area features a sub-tropical climate and is dotted with numerous coves and inlets. The area is home to bald eagles, orca, harbor seal, sea lions and great blue heron.
